Well it ain't Pretty :)
But here's the first attempt at a video. They will get better trust me..
The Orks run by my brother Ed took on Jim and Mike's Imperial Guard. It was a battle for claiming an objective from the opponent. The Battle was pretty nasty and the Imperial Guard took slightly larger losses than the Orks. The Orks reached the objective on the imperial guard side but could not break their hold on the position so the battle was a draw. The Imperial Guard did go for a last ditch effort to reach their goal but could not get there in time while still under heavy fire from the Orks. Pretty good game all around, i just wish i had remembered to record more...

Death Has come

So last weekend my Necron army destroyed the Imperial Guard. This army really is quite a nasty one and unless an opponent's army is designed to take them on they will probably lose. The army has no real weakness aside from point cost and rigid troop selections and the lack of customization. Which in game terms don't amount to much. I do, however like to customize an army and really hope they get a new codex soon. Do i think the army is a cheesy army? no. I think that up against another army who is equally tough like space marines, chaos, eldar, or possibly Tau they might have a hard time of it.
In any case i am currently getting a chaos space marine army together and as soon as it is up to playable numbers i will start on my eldar army of Biel Tan.
This weekend we will be heading down to Maryland (or Beachwood, NJ for those who aren't in the know) to play with Mike at his house. This time it will be Imperial Guard against Okrs or possibly Tyranids.
I'll post as soon as something else important comes up.

Battle Report for Sunday Sept, 13th

This was our first planetstrike mission. It was a defensive position held by orks under attack from an invading tyranid force. The orks held up well against the tyranids and, had they more time probably would have had a successful defense of the bastion and gun emplacements. The tyranids were too much for the orks and by the end of round 5 even though there weren't many of the bugs left they still held the majority of the objectives. One thing that really helped them was the lictor that managed to sneak into the bastion and kill everyone inside. Here's some pics from the battle.

Necrons and 'Nids: The Rematch Results 9-06-09

Well,
Today saw the rematch of the two armies that faced off last week. While last week the Tyranids had a rough fight the whole way until they lost, this week it was different.
The Necrons fielded the same army (Necrons do not make mistakes so they have no need to "Adjust" their force).
This time around insead of Concentrating on taking out the Monolith the Tyranids seemed to work more on the troops who can cause the army to "Phase out".
Early in the battle the Necrons took aim at the biggest in the Tyranid army and dropped a carnifex under heavy fire. This looked like a bad omen for the army as these usually last to nearly the edn of the game.
A large unit of scarab swarms move in on the termagaunts on the right side of the battle and manages to tie up the entire unit for the whole game.
A tomb spider sweeps across the side with the scarabs and tangles up a unit of Tyranid warriors who attempt to deal with it in cose combat.
The second turn saw the entrance of one of the Genestealers units which managed to take out a unit of Destroyers. This weakened one of the flanks of the Necrons and showed the first crack in the armor of the army. The Genestealers also take out the Necron lord with the Destroyer body adaptation which makes this side of the Necron Army seem about to collapse.
The Stealers fresh from the destruction of the destroyer and lord move across the board toward a unit of warriors. The warriors open fire and their attack nearly clears the field of the Genestealers.
On the other side of the map a Lictor popped up in front of a pair of Heavy Destroyers but was a paper tiger as he stood their looking menacing but bouncing off of their tough armor.
The rest of the deep striking gene stealers came pouring out of the same side as the first batch of genestealers.
The Lictor eventually manages to take out the Heavy Destroyers and this adds more nails in the coffin for the necrons.
At this point the necrons lose a bunch of their warriors and begin to phase out due to losses to great to handle and the day is won by the Tyranids.
On a side note these Tyranids seemed to move a slight bit further than ANY other tyranids in the game but when we closely monitored this phenomenon it seemed to stop so we think it was an anomaly with our equipment. Further close studies will be done.
Field Observer Smith disconnecting.

NECRON AMD TYRANIDS BATTLE REPORT 8/30/09
This report comes in from the Tyranid commander (it has been translated into english as close as possible)
Well what can I say; the necron is a cheese army without an updated 5th edition book.
It was an uphill battle for the Tyranids for the first 3 turns, causing no casualties at all, and the genestealer were no where to be found. Going into round 4 all that remained were 3 monstrous creatures which held off the entire necron army, and fashionably late appearance of the Stealers. The godfex managed to single handily destroy the monolith and absorb an insane amount of gauss fire, simply shaking off everything the Necrons threw at it. The Tyranids may have lost, but the godfex pissed on the monolith in the end so i won a moral victor.start: 0000-00-00 end: 0000-00-00
(for the record this was the first time a Necron Monolith was taken out - Chris)

First Entry from the Battlefront
This was sent in from Jim:
Battle update for the weekend of August 22-23 2009.....
Ok first for some of you who didn't know there was a showing of the imperium on sat. By that i mean mike took his figs out and put them back. That about explains the battle for they got their asses kicked by the Orks of ed. It wasn't even a battle, i mean who brings a tank with an autocannon as the main wep against orks...hope someone was fired for that.
Sun battle was very good, orks and chaos against necrons, (with no monolith so FU Matt.) Necrons won by holding the control point at the end of turn 5, and all went well no cheating....wait Matt wasn't there and there was no cheating, think i see a pattern here. I do have to give props to the one 10 man necron unit that stood against what seemed like an endless horde of orks in CC and lived, though they were joined by the necron lord halfway through...
In case you didn't know (not sure how you couldn't) Chris is doing chaos and I have taken on the task of doing imperial guard because I believe they could be a great army..
Until next week, keep painting you CHEATING FUCKS
