Well,
Today saw the rematch of the two armies that faced off last week. While last week the Tyranids had a rough fight the whole way until they lost, this week it was different.
The Necrons fielded the same army (Necrons do not make mistakes so they have no need to "Adjust" their force).
This time around insead of Concentrating on taking out the Monolith the Tyranids seemed to work more on the troops who can cause the army to "Phase out".
Early in the battle the Necrons took aim at the biggest in the Tyranid army and dropped a carnifex under heavy fire. This looked like a bad omen for the army as these usually last to nearly the edn of the game.
A large unit of scarab swarms move in on the termagaunts on the right side of the battle and manages to tie up the entire unit for the whole game.
A tomb spider sweeps across the side with the scarabs and tangles up a unit of Tyranid warriors who attempt to deal with it in cose combat.
The second turn saw the entrance of one of the Genestealers units which managed to take out a unit of Destroyers. This weakened one of the flanks of the Necrons and showed the first crack in the armor of the army. The Genestealers also take out the Necron lord with the Destroyer body adaptation which makes this side of the Necron Army seem about to collapse.
The Stealers fresh from the destruction of the destroyer and lord move across the board toward a unit of warriors. The warriors open fire and their attack nearly clears the field of the Genestealers.
On the other side of the map a Lictor popped up in front of a pair of Heavy Destroyers but was a paper tiger as he stood their looking menacing but bouncing off of their tough armor.
The rest of the deep striking gene stealers came pouring out of the same side as the first batch of genestealers.
The Lictor eventually manages to take out the Heavy Destroyers and this adds more nails in the coffin for the necrons.
At this point the necrons lose a bunch of their warriors and begin to phase out due to losses to great to handle and the day is won by the Tyranids.
On a side note these Tyranids seemed to move a slight bit further than ANY other tyranids in the game but when we closely monitored this phenomenon it seemed to stop so we think it was an anomaly with our equipment. Further close studies will be done.
Field Observer Smith disconnecting.
